Hi,
I had recently reinstalled Microsoft Office 2004 for MAC with MSN Messenger on my powerbook. When I tried to sign on to Messenger I first needed to change my e-mail address, but when I tried to sign in, it told me that I needed to download the new upgrade. So I downloaded the new upgrade, and now it wont let me sign in at all. How do I get it to let me sign in and how do I get it to change to my other e-mail address?
Thank you
Bonnie

Hello Bonnie,
My name is Richard and I will be your support technician and assisting you with your problem.
If you had the 'remember' password check box enabled msn will automatically sign-in when you launch it. Trying the following to see if it helps correct the problem:
1) When msn tries to sign-in press command + period, or from the network menu select 'cancel sign-in'.
2) From the network menu select the 'sign-in' option. This should bring up a dialog box with your account settings.
3) Change your e-mail address and enter the password. Then see if you can connect.
Note: I'd leave the 'remember' box for the password unchecked until you verify the account signs in OK. If it does you can go back in and enable the option.
Please let me know how things work out.

Richard,
Thank you for helping me. I tried to do what you told me to do, but Messenger wont even allow me to sign in without downloading an update. So I downloaded the update and it still will not allow me to sign on. So, what do I do? It eventually allowed me to change my password and username. Thank you for your time and help

Hi Bonnie,
Thank you for getting back to me, I'm sorry my first tip didn't help. I have another solution for you to try:
1) Click on the finder in the dock, then press the command + F key combination (OR goto: File - Find). A search window should appear, the first box should read 'Search in Everywhere'. The second line should read 'Name contains'.
2) Type in the blank box: MSN Messenger, then press the search button. Another window should come up with a few files related to MSN (roughly 3 files).
3) From the Edit menu choose 'Select All' or press command+A. Once the files and highlighted drag them to the trash or press 'command+delete'. Then empty the trash.
4) Goto the following link and download the latest version of MSN:
http://www.microsoft.com/mac/default...d=msnmessenger
5) After the download is complete, open the DMG file and install MSN as normal.
Then see if MSN runs OK and allows you to enter your correct account details and login successfully. Please let me know the results.
