I am on an network with three Intel based macbook pros. Doing a point to point ichat video session works fine..... the problem is that ichat (current version) shows each system to be incapable of doing multisession.... running 10.4.8 on each system. on a corporate network with T1s so bandwidth should not be an issue. Outside buddies do show multisession capability.
Any ideas why we'd be having problems??
Thanks

What do you mean by multisession: did you want to be in two separate video chats at the same time?

I want to do a single 3 way video conference....

You are saying you want to do a three way video conference-are you having trouble or are they having the problem?
Sorry for all the questions...sometimes, even if they have multisession videochatting, if they aren't on the mac, you may run into problems.

Yes I want a 3 way conference. Yes, we are all one Macs..... I am the person trying to start the conference. I don't understand why their intel imacs are not showing up as being multisession capable (ie. they should appear with the stacked video icon)

If you're having trouble with multi-way chatting, try having a different participant initiate the chat. It is best to have person with the fastest computer and fastest Internet connection host the chat.
Also, make sure you can chat with each participant individually. You won't be able to have a multi-way chat if you can't chat with an individual.

I can chat with each person individually.
Everyone has tried to intiate the multiple chat to no avail.
Any other ideas????

This should help you. -
"Because iChat relies on .Mac servers, computers that are not connected to the Internet cannot participate in multi-way AV chats. They can still participate in one-to-one AV chats, or text chats via Bonjour or Jabber (if the Jabber server is hosted on their local network)."
You may need to contact Apple tech support for clarification on this.
