TICKET ARCHIVE -> Music Cd's Do Not Mount

Any fixes for a CD drive that takes the disc in and then nothing happens? Software CD's ok. Thanks- Chris

Chris,

Go to preferences and click on CD & DVD and check what is selected as an action for Music CD's.

Blank CD- ask
Blank DVD-ask
Music CD-open itunes
Picture CD-open iphoto
Video DVD-open DVD player

I don't know why Chuck, but after I posted this, I ran a backup of my data on a newly installed Seagate ex hard drive, and now when I stick in the CD's they come up as advertised. Still makes a funny noise, not normal, during ejection. Is a screw loose or something in my drive?

I tried three different CD's and a DVD just to make sure.

Chris,

Must be my aura. Run disk permissions repair and start up from your install CD or DVD and repair disk just to make sure everything is ok. If it is making a strange noise it could very well be that something is physically is wrong and that I can't help you with. Time to take it to the Genius Bar.
