I recently upgraded to Mac OS X 10.5 and now I cannot print to the laser printer in our office that is connected via usb to a Windows XP PC (which I was able to do previous to the leopard upgrade)

The weird thing is that from finder, I could access the shared folder in the same PC using smb connection.

I followed the steps in http://docs.info.apple.com/article.h...5/en/8671.html on how to add the printer but the problem is when i click WINDOWS in the toolbar of the dialog box that appears, the box remains blank and does not detect any windows printer!

What do i need to do to be able to see the printers in my network in the Windows tab?

This is a Samba bug in Leopard. Some report that 10.5.2 update fixes it, but many others still have this problem. To get around this:
Use the Advanced print protocols in Print & Fax prefs. To get there, you first open the Print & Fax System Preferenes panel, then click the plus sign at the lower left corner of the window. Then, point the cursor on the toolbar (next to any old icon) > right click/ ctrl-click > Customize Toolbar. Drag the Advanced icon to the toolbar and you're all set! (This is a hint from macosxhints.com)

So, click Advanced, then select Windows printing via samba.
enter the URI:
smb://[IP of PC]/[printer share name]
or
smb://usernameass@[IP of PC]/[printer share name]
(user - colon - pass) - I don't know how to not show
