Description:
Dear No Wonder,

I recently upgraded my Mac OS from v7.5.3 to 7.5.5.

Since the upgrade, a dialog box
always appears automatically when I boot
up. For awhile, it was my documents file
(and asking me to select a spell checker).
Now it's my system folder dialog box. I then have the choice of selecting a file or cancelling to get rid of the dialog box.

I don't want the dialog box to appear unless I ask for it. Unfortunately, I can't figure out which control panel takes
care of this. It's not in the start-up
file.

I would appreciate a suggestion. I'm
stumped.

Thanks.

John

Friday Evening

Hello John,

There are a number of things I would suggest doing.

First, I would re-build your desktop by re-starting your Mac while holding down the Option and Command buttons.

Second, if it still persists you might find that it would help to go into your System Folder and then into the Preferences Folder in it. Find the FINDER Preferences and drag them to the Trash. Close the windows and then do a regular re-start of your Mac.

If neither of these actions does away with the unwanted alerts, please get back to me and we will take it from there.
