I'm having a color problem in Quark 5.0. My highlight color for text is not working. When I highlight it is in black. In going into the menu to see if I could spot something, I noticed that the Marker Text color also is not working. It was set on red and shows in black.

The highlight color is working in everything else -- just not in Quark.

I can usually find lots of answers by going into help files, but in my opinion, the Quark help files are nearly useless.

I hope this finds you, Nathaniel, and that perhaps you can help me again.

Cindy, Hi again! Almost missed this post!

I forgot, are you in Classic or OS 9 using Quark 5? You've already downloaded the DrawXT extension for screen redraw? Of course hit F7 to try to clear the problem.

I have to say I'm not familiar with Marker Text in quark. Is that a special feature? (Doing some searching now)

Hi!
Sorry I didn't get back to you sooner; I took a couple days vacation last week.

I'm still stumbling around in Quark with a great deal to learn, however, I did figure this deal out -- quite by accident. I had to go into View, then Colors. The color was set at None. When I set it to White my highlight color started to work.

As to the Marker Text, I believe that where your time/date, etc., shows on the menu bar across the top of the computer screen. You can set it to different colors. I now have it set to blue.

I think the help files in Quark are more for advanced users, leaving us novices in the dust, and I never find a lot of help in them.
