I am running XP in a Parallels virtual machine on a new MacBook Pro. I use a personal information manager in the XP environment that dials the phone from the address card. XP, however, apparently has no drivers for the Apple USB modem (v92 fax modem) that I just bought. Everything works fine from within OSX. Is there (1) a driver I can use for XP, or else (2) a different USB modem that I can buy that works on both XP and OSX?

Hi Skippy

Read this page on the Parallels forum;

http://forums.parallels.com/showthre...ight=usb+modem

According to Apple, that modem will work in Windows if you're running using BootCamp.

I am using Parallels, and I do not have the modem drivers from Boot Camp. I went onto the Parallels forum and requested them. Apparently, others have tried to use them and received problems, including the BSOD. What I would like to know is, is there another USB modem - a different modem - that works for both XP and OSX?

I haven't seen any USB modems that work with both a Mac and PC.

I would keep looking at the Parallels forums. Some people seem to have been able to use this modem on both sides.

I've done some searching and haven't been able to find any other information.
