is it possible to get the new software that apple put out with the new imac whats it called photo booth or something?

It's called Aperture. Apple has an app you can download to see if Aperture will run on your Macintosh; it's available on their downloads page. I would use that first before investing money in Aperture, since Aperture has rather high-end processor/memory/hard drive requirements.

I think I misunderstood your question. The software you're talking about is Front Row. There are various hacks that will allow it to run on non-iMac Macintosh computers. However, there are also lots of reports that doing so corrupts your system so badly that you end up having to reinstall your system. It's not worth it.
Wait until January and MWSF. You'll be pleasantly surprised.
