Need more details. What do you see when you go to System Preferences/Audio?

When I go to system preferences/Sound, everything is on full volume input and output.
That is the only place I find something, no audio appears.

I need more details. Are you playing music through iTunes, are you producing/recording music through an interface...I'm not sure how to help you unless I know what you're trying to do with your speakers.

My gut reaction is for you to repair permissions (apps/utilities/disk utility/repair permissions), restart and then see if the speakers work. More info will help me provide more to help you.

Did repair permissions as you suggested, tested itunes.......No Sound from internal speakers.
I am traveling for two weeks....when I get back home, I can try external speakers. What do you think?

Turn on sound for volume change in Audio. Do you hear anything when you raise or lower the volume?

Try it with headphones too. If the headphones don't work I'd assume there's something wrong with your audio card.
