Every time I try to print from Office 2004 Mac, it crashes word. I've updated word, and my printer drivers, run onyx, repaired permissions from diskutil and tried printing various different files. Excel, Word both have the same crash...

Printer is an hp deskjet 5440 via USB.

Much appreciated.

At this point, the easiet thing to do is use the "Remove Office" app that's both on the install CD/DVD and on your hard drive and let it remove all the Office components. Then reinstall Office, run the latest updater (you can do this through Office or get it from mactopia.com) and then see what happens. I suspect everything will work fine after that. Offie is so convoluted that any number of problems can cause these headaches, and its faster to go the uninstall-reinstall routine than try to find the problematic files.

HTH and please let us know what happens. Thanks.

Will do. Office is VERY convoluted...I have read about this problem (via google) in various places. Some people have the problem with one specific user account, mine it seems is for all user accounts. Maybe I'll to get back to using the iWork if this doesn't work out.

Will check back in after I get this done.

Well, I've removed office 2004 without any issues. But I don't have the disk with me (its sitting safely in a CD case at my parents house). So I'll have time to check it out later this week if not this week. I'll keep all posted here.

If you're desperate, I think you can download the Microsoft Office 2004 test drive, which is fully functional for 30 days. However (and this is important), remove it completely before you reinstall Office from your purchased CD/DVD. Otherwise, you'll have a lot of headaches.
