Description:
I own a Umax Astra 600 scanner and want to use OmniPage 7 as my OCR program. Unfortunately there is no Chooser extension provided for this model of Umax scanner. Does OmniPage or Umax make a plugin that will allow me to use this software with my scanner? If so, where might it be available? If not, does anybody know a workaround to get this software/scanner combination working?
Any help will really be appreciated.

Howdy. I have an Astra 1200S and so I wil send you the extension for this scanner in a separate e-mail and see if that works. The two scanners are similar (in fact, the CD that came with mine had a few files intended for the 600) so there is a good chance. It works fine with OmniPage Pro 8. You could also try the Apple Scanner extension since that is the driver both the 1200 and 600 use.
