I have old excel files from 1985 that I can't open with Excel 5.0. Do you know of any way to open these files and get the data out?

Richard,
Thanks for giving us here at No Wonder the opportunity to answer your
question. I am Nevin of the No Wonder Mac Staff.
You can open an old excel file from inside the version you are running now.
(you don't mention which version you have) Open excel and go to file in the menu
bar and select open, then browse your harddrive until you find the file you are
trying to open and just double click on it. Let me know if this works or if you
need further assistance.

Don't forget to rebuild your desktop and zap your pram regularly!
