And why can't OS X ever remember the previous size of the last one? Does this OS have amnesia? Every single time, no matter what program I'm in, and I do a Command+O to open something with that program, some ridiculously tiny Open window that shows a fraction of the availalbe screen appears. If it showed everything viewable, I could understand. But its only showing a small part of the available screen. And why does it always start in the OS X partition, never in the partition I spend 99.99.99% of my time in? I NEVER open in the OS X partition. More amnesia.

If there is a setting to control this default Open location, please let me know. I HATE the way Apple arranges things. Definitely not my style so I'm always fighting with this OS. If it could just remember a few things, life would be a lot better, digitally wise.

Using latest version of most all software.

Sounds like you're expressing a desire for Default Folder, an open/save dialog enhancement that Gene Steinberg (macnightowl.com) has been asking of Mac OS X for years now.
