TICKET ARCHIVE -> opening downloaded files w/.exe and .pps extensions

What do I need to do to be able to open and read downloaded files (thru AOL) with odd extensions, in OS 10.4?

You won't usually be able to open a .exe file on a Mac. That's a windows executable file, and a PC running Windows will open it. A new intel Mac, running Windows, will also open it. The Mac OS X will not.
The .pps extension usually is a PowerPoint slide show file. You can open that with PowerPoint (or Keynote on a Mac can open and run those, also.)
