Hi

How do us Mac users open the new PC Microsoft Vista files?

I run Microsoft Office 2004 for Mac. I am starting to get a few documents & spreadsheets from the new PC Microsoft Vista software, they have a different .xls etc (so .xls is now .xlsx)

I cant open them?? I presume that there is something to download to be able to open them?

Please direct me to the best way of opening them.

Many thanks

Those are the new format Office files, and nothing to do with Microsoft Vista.

When Office 2008 for the Mac is released after the first of the year, you will get to create those on your Mac! (something to look forward to - not!)

Anyway, docx, and xlsx docs just require a converter, and there are several that you can download from any convenient software download site. Go to one of those download sites, and look for a docx converter.
Microsoft has one, and here's another that you can download
