When I try to download a .pdf file, only the first page appears, OR the Quicktime logo appears instead of even the first page. I have downloaded the latest version of Adobe Acrobat Reader, which makes no difference.

Any suggestions welcome ...

Hi,

For one thing you don't need Adobe reader, there is a built in pdf viewer in OS 10 called preview. It should already be in your dock, if not its in your application folder.

Hi Chuck

Thank you very much- I didn't know that. Unfortunately- and I realise this may just be my ignorance, rather than a technical flaw - I don't seem to be able to get to the stage at which I could use Preview - I can't get the document to download (it's a German exam paper -located at http://www.aqa.org.uk/qual/gcse/qp-m...W-QP-Jun05.pdf). Page 1 appears and I can't go beyond it, or do anything with it.

Vobbel,

Apparently the document is not downloadable, I was able to download it and view it in Preview but there was not way to save it I could only view it or print it.

Thank you again. If I could print it that would be quite good enough. But when I click on -the "Speaking Foundation & Higher Question Paper" line (any year) all I get is the front page. Should I be doing something to the settings of Preview, or Safari, or...?

Vobbel,

I don't see the "Speaking Foundation & Higher Question Paper" line, however maybe what you need to do is go the View Menu and select Drawer then you will see all of the pages (a total of 36).

Sorry, but I'm having the same problem again, with a different site: when I try to get into http://www.southeasternrailway.co.uk...imetable_9.pdf - all I get is the front page. The View menu (in Safari) doesn't have a Drawer item. I still don't understand - and I apologise for my ignorance - why, when I try to get to a .pdf file, I get a Quicktime screen.

What happens when you control click on the window, do you get a menu that allows you to open with Preview? I was able to do this and view all 39 pages as well as save the document.
