Hi, I have a problem (which is obviously why I am here!). We have Quark 4 in our office, with one copy of Quark 5 on one of the machines (still running on through classic - painfully).

We are all running OSX and I have convinced everyone in the office convert to the glories of InDesign.

The problem that we have though, is that some of our files are saved (and archived on CDs) as Quark 5 files, and as we all know and love we can't open Q5 files in InDesign!! We have just purchased one copy of Quark 6.5 - in the hope that we could save back to 4 and open as usual in InDesign, as we want to get rid of OS9 forever! But... I have just found out since installing Quark that you can't save back to 4. Hmm...

All we need to be able to do is open the Quark 5 files to save them back to 4!!!

So I thought I would put the question out there... to ANYONE who may have *somehow* overcome this stupid stupid problem so that we can ditch Quark forever??!

If anyone can help, that would be VERY appreciated!

Thank u,

Melissa

Have a look at Q2ID plugin-

http://www.markzware.com/q2id/

It works well and can convert any QXP file into Indesign, I have seen it in action.

Failing that you can always keep an OS9 machine around and downsave the files from Quark5 to Quark4 then open in Indesign.

Regards
Ed
