TICKET ARCHIVE -> Opening Quark Files

Is there any way that I could open and print out Quark files if I don't have the program?

Back in OS9 days I commissioned a designer to do some work for me, which she did in Quark. Although she is no longer working for me I have copies of all the files. Is there any way I can open and print these without buying the costly Quark program (I would have no use for it apart from opening these files)? Also, her layouts are A3 sized but I'd need the facility to scale them down to A4 and A5.

Obviously, if there was a cheap piece of software that I'd need to buy I would.

Note: Files created on OS9 using Quark 4.11. I am now running OS X 10.4. I have Photoshop CS2 but I presume that this is of no help.

Many thanks if anyone can advise me,

Jonathan

Hi Jonathan

You have two choices.

Look for Quark on ebay.com for a cheap price, or buy Adobe's InDesign. That will open Quark files.

Dear Bob,

Thanks for this info; you've confirmed that there's no "quick fix". Apologies for the delay in my response as I didn't receive an email this time to tell me that someone had responded!
