TICKET ARCHIVE -> opening zip files

This may be a stupid question, but how do I open zip files with osx? Do I need a seperate program? I am a newcomer to osx and Apple. Thanks

Functionality to create and open .zip archives is built into Mac OS X 10.3 and later. If you have, just open. Find Create Archive in File menu. If 10.2 or older, you need Stuffit Expander, downloadable from http://www.stuffit.com/mac/expander/exp-downloadv.html.
