hello
I have bought a canon eos 350d slr digital camera and a canon pixma ip3000 printer. I also have an imac g5 running panther. My problem is that I can open iphoto files in all of the bundled software from canon APART from canon easy photoprint. It does not recognise any of my iphoto albums or smart albums!!!! So I have to open all of my photos in canons photostudio software then save the photo in finder and then and only then can I open it in photoprint in order to get it printed. Is there anything you can do to help?? As you can probably guess I am new to macs!
cheers
Nick

I think you have discovered what to do already, The problem is with the Canon software. It does not support the iPhoto folder structure, so you have to extract the photos manually as you have been doing. Complain to Canon, maybe they will update their software to support iPhoto.
If you really like the Canon software, you could use that to import the photos from your camera, and save that intermediate step, ignoring iPhoto completely.
You can change a basic setting in your system by opening your Image Capture app. Open preference in Image Capture, and change the application that opens when a camera is connected, choosing your Canon photo software. This will bypass iPhoto, if that is what you prefer.
