Description:
Can not upgrade my OS 8.0 to 8.1. Have tried, using Apple download, Macworld download, and MacAddict CD. All attempts load fine until a dialog says "some software did not load" and no action will change it. Have tried again after a clean install of 8.0, but results in the same failure. Have tried with extensions off, on, booted up from a backup hd drive with os 8.0, on the backup drive. The worst part is it doesn't tell me what's missing. Have ordered the update cd from Apple. Appreciate any help you may give.

Without knowing exactly what you are doing when you upgrade, I cannot answer you directly. But the program and the MacFixit site just might.
