TICKET ARCHIVE -> OS 8 Won't Install

Description:
I got your message and I will try out what you told me. I don't have the driver for the 8.1 update but I do have the driver 1.3.1 that came with the system 8 to update my driver. Will this work? I'm going to try it but I would like to know from you if it will work or not. Once I get system 8 to load (if I ever do) do you recommend updating to 8.1? Thank you again for your time and wish me luck. I have been working on this for 4 days now and still am getting nowhere. I hope you had the solution and it will now install. I also wanted to let you know that it will go through the installation process and when it gets to finishing installation the window disappears but then everything freezes up and I have to force restart the computer using control,apple,power keys. Is this also because my HD could be corrupted like you mentioned? Thank you again.

Hi David and welcome to No Wonder!
It is best to reply to the tech who originally responded to your question...he/she will know more about your case.
Run Drive Setup 1.3.1 and update your drivers and see if this helps.
It is not absolutely necessary to update to OS8.1 - it is not a major system upgrade.
OS8.5 comes out in 3 weeks and it is a major upgrade...so maybe you should just hold off until it has been released.
If you have recently purchased OS8, you are likely to get a discounted price for OS8.5.
