OK, I just switched back to a Mac after years of Wintel work. I purchased a Mac Mini (preloaded with Panther, but came with Tiger upgrade). I connected (wired) the Mini running Panther to my existing Wintel network (USR Wireless router with both wired and wireless connections).
Everything worked fine! I was able to connect to the Internet as well as my Windows shared folders. This remained this way for several days.
I upgraded to Tiger. My entire network shut down. I could no longer connect any of my machines to the Internet. I had strong signal on my wireless Wintel machines, but neither my Windows machines nor my Mac could connect to the network. Removed Mac mini connection and everything worked fine.
Tried re-installing Tiger. Same results!
Restored Panther and I am happily networked again. Any ideas on how to resolve so that I can enjoy the benefits of Tiger?

I think you may need to install this:
http://www.apple.com/support/downloa...pdate1041.html
You would do this after installing Tiger. I know that this update fixed some networking problems. The question is how do you get it if Tiger prevents network access?
Download the stand alone installer and copy the file to a CD before you do the upgrade to Tiger. You might then consider trying an archive and install of Tiger rather than an upgrade install. Then install the 10.4.1 patch.
If this fails to cure the problem, but I think it will, I believe you are still entitled to some tech support from Apple. I would call them.
