TICKET ARCHIVE -> os8.1 uses 20megs!

Computer Type: apple
Model: powermac6500/300
RAM: 65+
RAM Enhancer: None
OS Version: MacOS 8.1

Description:
sometimes i notice that the OS is taking up to 20 Megs! i don't have a lot of extensions running, but perhaps the ones i do have are memory killers...i have never had an OS that took soooo much RAM...do you have any suggestions of how i can minimize RAM usage by the OS?

Hi Markham, welcome to Nowonder, I'm robertw.
I use the same machine and run between 21 and 22mg. Pretty normal. You can take out anything you don't use and see if you can reduce it.
