I've recently given up on Suitcase, unistalled it, and have been trying to get Font Book up & running.

I had previously created a separate folder on the hard drive for my fonts; Suitcase had no problem managing them from that folder.

In trying to work with Font Book, I moved all of the fonts to both the "fonts" folders in User->Library, and HD->Library. I cannot figure out how to import the fonts into Font Book - it does not show all of my fonts. And they don't work in the application (InDesign) that I REALLY need them to work. Help!

Howdy!

I use InDesign as well. I've read quite a few posts about FontBook and the general consensus is that it's not all that great for graphic professionals. Here's a website that goes into fonts in OS X and the inherent problems involved that are increased when compared with OS 9:
http://software-robotics.com/docs/PD...anagement.html

I have heard that FontBook 2 is much more stable and reliable. Here's the general info page for FontBook:
http://www.apple.com/macosx/features/fontbook/

It says you can load fonts from any folder on your computer, looks like you just have to tell it which font folders you want to load.

Let me know if any of this helps.

Yeah, it does help a lot. I was afraid that Font Book wasn't going to do what I really need - I guess I'll try again with Suitcase ...

Thanks so much!

If you want a more powerful Extensis product you should check out FontAgent Pro. It's even more powerful than Suitcase and more stable (production houses use it).

One tip I use when I use Suitcase is to make separate folders of fonts for your separate jobs and only load what you need. Might help you with font loading issues…

Glad I could help!
