TICKET ARCHIVE -> Osx Tiger And Sherlock

My copy of Sherlock (version 3.6.1) seems to have got confused. It randomly changes the languages used on the icons and menus. Japanese, German, French and occasionally English.

I am running OSX Tiger on a iMacG5.

I tried putting the Sherlock movies channel into a bookmark as suggested by apple at:

http://www.apple.com/applescript/safari/sherlock/

But even using this, all I get is a blank sherlock screen, the spinning wheel and a "loading movies", message, but no movies seem to arrive.

Is this a problem with my version of Sherlock, or is there something wrong with the server that is providing the information to Sherlock?

Any help would be much appreciated, as the Movies Channel alone makes the Mac worth the purchase price.

I could send a screen shot of the app if that would help.

Many thanks,

Michael

Michael,

My name is Cheryl and I will be assisting you.

Go to Home>Library>Preferences
Trash the com.apple.Sherlock.plist file.
Empty the trash.
Now give Sherlock a try.

Thanks for the hint.

Did that, and the language problems have gone, but I also seem to have lost all the channels now... Is there any way of getting them back?

Thanks...

Michael,

Go to Home/library/caches/sherlock/web foundation

Open the web foundation folder and press command a (for select all)

Drag all of the selected contents to the trash and empty the trash.

Navigate back to user folder/library/caches/sherlock/web foundation and select the web foundation folder. (just click once on it), then go to the file Menu and select Get Info.

In the get info window, check "locked"

Launch Sherlock and all of the previously working channels should load and continue to do so. When you quit the program and relaunch, each channel you select will reload again (because the channels are no longer being cached).
