Hello Brian,

Welcome to NoWonder.Com.

It appears that your battery will need to be replaced soon. Remember that your main computer setup instructions are stored in the BIOS (CMOS) which is powered by this battery. You do not want to lose these settings.

When your machine is booting up, it will give you a message like "Push F1 for Setup". Getting into Setup will allow you to visit each screen. Then push the Print Screen key on your keyboard and make a hard copy of each screen. Now you are ready to open your computer and change the battery. It will probably be somewhere on the motherboard.

When you change it, you will lose your settings. When you restart the computer, you will need to choose Setup and enter any information from your hard copy, which is lacking. Always keep this hard copy handy, next to the computer.

Good luck.

Robin
