I get this on the top of a website I just made. I made it in Word 2004, saved it as a web page then every time I edit the page I get this on the top of the page (it gets added every time so now I have about 10 of them. ) ????

I should add it shows in Opera 8.01 and IE but not in Safari. I have to have it look right for IE of course.

Do you know HTML? That looks like a CSS property (which is not standard, BTW) generated by Word and stuck into the tag of the webpage.<br /> <br /> Word generates a lot of non-standard code (meaning it's hard to make it work in other browsers) and occasionally does funky things like this.<br /> <br /> Edit your webpage (the one that has a .htm or .html extension on it) with something like TextEdit and look for <title>@page {mso-footnote-position:end-of-section;} and remove the stuff in between the tags.

If you need more assistance, if it's possible; post your webpage to the internet and let me know the website address.

Does this answer your question?

I don't know HTML.
If I copied and pasted into Frontpage or some other website builder after working with it in Word, would that be better? Then I would FTP it up from Frontpage.

I used Textedit but it didn't show up. Then I thought about how it materialized right after I altered the heading. So I changed it - took out the color and that did it. Or maybe it was the Italics.

What do you recommended for someone like me? I need a basic webpage builder to show text and images - thumbnails, etc. My learning ability is equivalent to a 2 year old with advanced Alzheimer's disease and severe mental retardation. Or at least it seems like it when I try to learn new stuff on a Mac! Not that the PC was any easier.

You could always copy and paste it into Frontpage if you like. There are many programs out there that help you build webpages. Macromedia's Dreamweaver seems to be one of the most used. You could download a trial of it and try it.

Other than that, I'm not really sure of too many others for the Mac
