Ever since I updated to Mac OS 10.3.9, I can't print Pagemaker 7.0. My printer is HP Office Jet 7310. I've installed Pagemaker on OS 9.2 as well, but to no avail. I can't print from either plaform. (It was running on OS X and on my HP Office Jet 6210.)

Howdy! Pagemaker is a discontinued product but was bought by Adobe some years ago. You may now upgrade to InDesign (highly recommended) so youre printing will go smoother and will be more supported by OS X. Upgrade to InDesign CS2 here:

http://store.adobe.com/store/product...nDesignUpgrade

As for your printer, go here and make sure you have the latest driver downloaded:

http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/s...n&cc=us&os=219

HP supports up to 10.4 so I think the issue is with Pagemaker itself not working with your printer.

Let me know what happens.

Thank-you! I am still not able to print a Pagemaker 7.0 document from the Classic Environment, but I found an updated HP driver for OS 9.2 that did the trick and allows me to print in Pagemaker from that operating system. I have to completely shut down from OS 10.3.9, but hey, it works and I don't have to invest in InDesign.

Word.

If you had to print in OS X you could try creating a pdf of your document and then print that file using os x acrobat.

Should I close this thread now?

Okay, so now I'm confused. You say to make a PDF file and then print in Acrobat. However, the version I have of Pagemaker (7.0.1) only runs in the Classic environment or on lower versions of the Mac. I only know how to make a PDF file from OS 10 by clicking on the PDF button when I wish to print. OS 9.2 does not offer me that option, and I don't know any other way to make a PDF file.

I think I'm stuck with the solution I came up with, short of switching to InDesign, which I'm not proned to do, since I don't use the resources that Pagemaker offers all that often.

So unless you have another idea, we can close this case. Thank you so much for your help.

Looks like you can directly export a pdf from Pagemaker 7.0. You could then print this pdf in OS X if you wanted to:

Since you've found a solution there's no need to fix what aint broke, so to speak.

Let me know if I should close.
