Here's some info about your query.

InDesign and Pagemaker are programmed differently and not as compatible as Pagemaker with QuarkXPress. You can place an exported InDesign document as an uneditable graphic image in Pagemaker, but can't actually import the original file. Why would you want to do such a thing anyway?

Adobe purchased Pagemaker and version 7 was the last PM version to be released before this change over. You can import PM to ID but not the other way around since PageMaker wouldn't be able to read ID files which are newer by default.

If you had to go back to PageMaker (aka Page Waster! he he), export your indesign to eps, save that as an illustrator file and then place that graphic (or the eps) into pagemaker. You'd have to do your editing in Illustrator but you could at least recopy the text in PM.
