TICKET ARCHIVE -> Panther "software error"

I am getting "software error" messages when opening or creating a new file using Photoshop and Illistrator is running very slowly. They were both running fine until I installed I reinstalled Acrobat. Everything else works fine except these programs and when I try to print.
I reinstalled all three programs with no luck.
Has anyone else has had this problem and how did you fix it??

Howdy! I haven't had the exact problem but I do have some things to try:

--have you repaired permissions? apps/utilities/disk utility/repair permissions
--have you deleted your illustrator and photoshop .pref (preference) files? Might be corrupted.
--are you running more than one font program?
