My 12" PB's fan is on full speed constantly. It will heat up even when not hooked up to a display. I've tried minimizing the number of Apps running at the same time. But to no avail. It seems the heat problem has gotten progressively worse over the last couple of months.

Call Apple. I have the same model (or thereabouts; 1.33GHz 12") and don't have ANY fan issues. Your laptop should still be under warranty, right? Don't fool around with hardware issues. And get AppleCare while you're at it. My policy is AppleCare with anything that has an LCD.
