I am currently using an ibook G4 purchased one year ago running on Panther. I am moving to South Carolina and want to stay in contact with my parents in North Carolina through webcam usage. I have never owned or used a webcam, and wanted some general advice on what direction to take. My parents are windows/pc users (unfortunately and I, of course, am on the MAC. I've heard that iSight is not compatible when you are conferencing with a pc user. I would PREFER the iSight if there are ways to get around the PC/MAC rift, but am open to suggestions. Take your time, I got two weeks Thanks so much!

Hi Ashlyn

You've heard wrong.

You can use the iSight and iChat (in your Apps folder) to video conference with your parents.
You parents will have to be running Windows XP and using the latest version of AIM;

http://www.aim.com

Then you can both talk see each other.
