DESCRIPTION:

PC will not read floppy or cd drives. Can not get to setup via f1. Computer hangs after checking ram and acknowledging presense of keyboard and mouse ..... is there a way to force boot from floppy or do i need to monkey with hardware?

Have you checked your BIOS settings
try to autodetect your HD

If not try f8 at win start up and boot under fail safe go to configuration/system and look for corrupt or missing
drivers
