When I have a document in Quark 6.5 for Mac in OS 10.4.1 and I do a Save as it attaches the previous name in the file so when I go to doa pdf file it uses the previous name not the new name to save the pdf file, how can I turn this off??

Example:
My original file name is

page 545

I want to do a save as page 4

It appears

page 4: page 545

So when I do the pdf the final name it gives me is
page 545 intead of page 4.

Hope this makes sence

Thanks Dina

Hi Dina,

Piece of cake! Go to your QXP Prefs and select 'Application/PDF'.

At the top of the resultant screen, you will see a load of bumf about 'Workflow', where you decide whether to print direct to PDF or create a PS file for Distilling.

Below that and the V-Mem settings you will se 'Default Name:'. My guess is that it is currently set to 'Layout/Project.pdf. Change that to 'Layout.pdf' instead.

Voilą!

Of course, now you know where to look, you can change it to whatever you want, but I find that 'Layout.pdf' works best for me.

Hope that helps.
