Description:
would like to know if any manufacturer out there makes or made a graphic accelerator card (a la Xclaim) for a mac with PDS slots. Any info rounding one of those puppies up would be greatly appreciated. Short of buying a new G3, I'd like to hold on to the old performa for another few months, then give it to my son, who is hinting that myth would be a lot more fun IN 3D.

Thanks for stopping by NoWonder!

There were a couple of manufactors that did at one time, but I have not seen them around in a long time. One of the problems was that in almost every model Apple used the PDS they used a different version of it. The SE was different from the SE/30 was different from the LC was different and so on. They didn't want to create x versions of one graphics card.

Your Mac, Performa6200, does have an LC PDS slot. You could check the used market and see what is out there. You may want to start with Sun Remarketing. They are the oldest used Mac reseller.

Hope this helps you out.
