Description:
I would like to know how far I can upgrade my CPU, currently a 75Mhz Pentium, located in a 'socket 5'
On the motherboard, there is a set of 2-pin jumpers, (JP8) marked 50, 60, and 66Mhz. Currently, the 50Mhz pins are connected.
There is also a table called 'core/bus clk ratio' This shows combinations of two more 3-pin jumpers, (JP14 and 18) and different ratios given in two different columns, the first of which is marked P54. This shows values of 3/2, 2/1, 3/1 and 5/2. The second column is marked M1, K5, and has values of 3/2, 2/2, 3/1 and 1/1.
Assuming that the pins are numbered from left to right when the lettering is the correct way up, then the current setting is 5/2, (both jumpers having pins 2 and 3 connected)
I would like to boost the performance of this machine as far as possible. Would an overdrive chip be a better investment than a faster processor?
Fujitsu are reluctant to help me with this (something about the warranty!), so any light you could shed for me would be much appreciated.

You should get a Pentium 180 MMX Overdrive. It will upgrade your processor to 150 mhz. Go here for the cheapest price
http://necxdirect.necx.com:8002/cgi-...24&nonce=guest I just bought that same product from them. Or you can get a whole new motherboard which would cost you about $400.
