Does anyone know how to change the basic template of Apple's Personal Address program. I can change the individual records but I am still trying to figure out how to change the Master Template of the applications.

Hi Bill

Open Address Book and open prefernces from the Address Book menu.

The 2nd icon is the master template for all new entries added in.

thank Ed,

I was hoping to change the Master Template and then have the added fields show up in the existing records. I find this to be a major drawback or short coming.

I dont think you can do it in the GUI, you can open the data file and edit it in a text editor but this is very tedious and you may damage the data structure.

I will put this back into the support pool

I would like to offer a great program for import into Mail

I am in the process of importing from Entourage and a custom built FileMaker Pro program about 3200 contacts.


This program worked great - minor date bug , but worth it.
