Can't open Photoshop Elements 3 with Stuffit Expander 10. Why? I paid for this application. iPhoto doesn't cut it.
If I can't get this to work I'm ready to get rid of my Mac for a PC. Downloading on this machine is so frustrating. Media Player doesn't work properly after download, even Quicktime doesn't work on many web pages. I had a Dell before this. A Dell arrives with everything loaded, click on application everything works and downloading doesn't need you to download other applications for them to work. What a difference.
Macs look good but that's it. Sorry about the whine, but I guess I was spoilt before. Anybody Help!!

PS3 comes with it's own installer on CD or as a download. Why do you need Stuffit Expander?

Because the site I downloaded if from said that is what I needed to open it with. If you click on the TRIAL version of Elements 3 on the Adobe Photoshop web site it mentions you have to download Stuffit
Expander. Check it out. I tried without and all I got was a message asking me what application to use to open it and in my applications file I didn't seem to have anything there to open it so I downloaded Stuffit which didn't work anyway. Thanks - Peter

Go to the Allume website and download Stuffit Standard, which is free. Stuffit costs money. I just tried downloading PS3 and Stuffit Standard and it worked fine. Give it another try.

TO ISHAN B.: Apart from the free Stuffit Expander I downloaded which didn't work, I checked out the Allume website for Stuffit Standard which was only a free trial version. I really don't want to end paying for a program which has such bad reviews plus also end up paying after trial period for Elements.
You mentioned earlier that if I bought a Photoshop Elements 3 on CD it came with its own installer and I wouldn't need Stuffit even though the trial version of Elements I downloaded did. Is this true? By the way thanks for responding to my questions. I'm a pensioner new to Mac and finding it trying at times. Thank very much - Peter

PE3 comes with its own installer, so you wouldn't need any other program to install it. HTH.
