i recently got a new macbook and there is no photobooth application. in the applications place in finder there's just an empty space where it should be. is it possible to find it or download a new one for free?

An 'empty space'? In your Dock? Or, missing from your Applications folder? Did you put that folder in list view to see if it really is there in that folder?
Click on the Spotlight menu (top right corner) and type photobooth, to see if the photobooth app shows up in that list. It may have been accidentally moved out of your Applications folder.
If completely missing from your hard drive - it can easily be recovered from your restore DVD, with the use of some software called Pacifist (some really useful software to have around!) You can download that from versiontracker.com.
Let me know how it goes...

thanks Dale. i decided to just reinstall it from the dvd that came with the computer. I'm planning on doing it sometime tomorrow. I'll (hopefully) tell you how it goes, unless i totally break my computer.

OK, you're not going to look for it first, then? That would be easier to do - and you may discover where you had moved it, eh?

The thing is, I spent the last few days looking for it and i didn't find it anywhere.

Pacifist will make your task much simpler.... without having to reinstall your system.
