Knowledge Level: Intermediate
Problem: Software
Computer Type: Apple
Model: G3 blue/white
RAM: 65+
RAM Enhancer: Virtual Memory
OS Version: MacOS 8.5.1

Description:
I loaded Photoshop 3.0 into my G3. Everything loaded fine , but when I went to use the Magic Wand, it made the image I was working on flash in different colors and left a trail of highlighted boxes until I undid the tool in the edit menu - and then everything went back to normal. I posted a message on the Adobe help site but so far no one has responded.

Any ideas what may cause this? Extensions? Conflicts? Anything!!

Thanks for your help - Mike Nichols

Perfectly normal activity here. It isn't actually changing the colours, just selecting the colours within the tolerance range set. If you have 'show info' floating palette visible (top right is its default position) it will give you a tolerance level - usually set to 64. The finer the selection you wish to make the lower the tolerance level.
Let me know what you were trying to do exactly and I'll give you a more comprehensive answer. Not until Monday however as I'm logged on in the office.

Hope I can be of further help and that the above makes sense.

Regards

Tony Eastwood
