Adobe Photoshop Elements 2.0 and OS 10.5.2

My Photoshop Elements program fails to run on my new MacBook Pro with
OS 10.5.2 installed. This program worked just fine on my old PowerBook G4 with OS 10.2.8.
Is there a solution?

Yes, you are right, Photoshop Elements 2 will not work with your new system. PE 2 is in the same generation with Photoshop 7. It will not work with Leopard.
The solution for PhotoShop Elements is to upgrade to version 4.
The problem with that 'solution' is - it doesn't work for everyone.

PhotoShop Elements is now at version 6 (for Windows), and the Mac version should be released soon, maybe by the end of March 2008

Perhaps you could use some other software until you can get that next version of PE?
May I suggest GraphicConverter as a temporary measure?

Thank you for your prompt response - very helpful.

Is the failure of Photoshop Elements 2 due to the Intel chip in my new laptop which replaced the G4 processor in my old laptop?

No, your Intel processor is not the problem, it's Leopard. Adobe announced when Leopard came out last fall that most of their older products will not work with Leopard, and they would not provide any support to help get their older products to work with Leopard.
If your MacBook Pro was running Tiger (10.4.x), then PE2 would likely install and work.
I'm _not_ suggesting that you try to go back to an older version of OS X. I _am_ suggesting that you should move forward, either by upgrading to PE version 6 (which is not shipping yet), or look to alternate software that can perform similar functions, and actually works with your newer Mac... such as GraphicConverter.
Have you tried the new iPhoto that comes installed on your new Macbook Pro?
