I have an (old) Epson 1640SU Scanner. It will not "see" the TWAIN import plug in. I have down loaded the new epson driver and plug in for Intel-based MacPro as indicated on their website. But the the scanner is working. But I cannot get Photoshop7.0 to import under the plug-in "twain" or anything else for this scanner. That is the former plug in I used with older Mac.

I have email Epson tech support, but they have not answered the 2 business days they said they would.

I am operating an Intel MacPro under system 10.4.8. 2 GB RAM, 250 GB storage. Should all work!

Any help will be appreciated.

Howdy! Looks like they have a driver for 10.4.4 + but there might be a bug related to 10.4.8; maybe the driver doesn't function in this latest system update?

Have you tried the Scan Utility instead of using Photoshop/Twain? Might give you a better result.

Let me know...

Thanks, I was able to make the Scan utility work. But it's not the same as using the scan through Photoshop TWAIN.

Hopefully, I'll find the solution for the problem as I would prefer to use Photoshop's scan parameter.
