Hi,

I have a G4 emac with 10.3.9 os and this only comes with a cd reader, burner and dvd player.

So, i have bought a pioneer DVD-DVR110D from ebay with no instructions and no software.
When putting a cd in it, the computer reconises it and is able to burn things to it but when i put a dvd-r in, nothing happens.

I mainly want to save movie files (avi) to dvd to save space on my computer.

please help!

Hello Naomi,

I recently bought a PIONEER DVD-RW DVR-110D from macsales.com and installed it into my Powermac G4 FW800 with 10.4.4. The instructions that came with my drive said that I needed to install a patch for my burner in order for it to be recognized by my computer. You might need to do the same and you can find the patch at http://www.patchburn.de/download.html. You will probably need to choose PatchBurn 3.1.3 since you are running Panther. After I installed the patch, my computer supported the drive and even iDVD could use it.

Let me know if this helps and feel free to ask more questions.
