Hello
A friend recently installed a PIONEER DVD-RW DVR-109 into my Mac as I am not very technical. The Drive will let me play music from a CD but it doesn't read or play DVDs. In the system profiler where it gives more information on the PIONEER DVD-RW DVR-109 it says that Disc Burning is not supported.
This means that i can only use this as a CD player whereas i need to burn CDs and DVDs and also occasionally play DVDs from the computer. It would be really great if you could help me with this. As I said i'm not very technical so i'm truly confused. My operating system is Mac OS X 10.3.2.
thanks
Kieran

DVD software is only installed on the machine when there's a DVD player isnatlled from Apple, usually.
You can use Pacifist
http://www.charlessoft.com/
to extract the DVD player from your 10.3 disc.
You could also just use VLC to play DVD's (free);
