skill level (barely learning computers)! i recently purchased a cdrom that said it was mac compatible if you have a pc emulator. i only need the emulator to view the cdrom, is there something cheaper or different then virtual pc that i could use.(free if possible)

Yes, i can help you, the program Transmac http://www.asy.com/ will let the pc be able to read apple cdroms. And if you have daemon tools, you might be able to read mac cd images as well. (daemon tools and transmac that is)

Good luck

oh shit, sorry that it came across the wrong way!

You mac should be able to view pc cd-roms, if it cant, i think there is something wrong with your mac, or possibly the drive?

Every mac i have used can read pc cdroms, also pc hard disk partitions, ntfs fat32, fat fat16, pc floppies. Mac should be able to read anything pc.

Do you have another mac you could test the disk on?
Are you sure the disk is good?

Also, if it's a windows multisession, there is a chance mac might not be able to read it, try making a copy of it on windows without multisession and finalize it. In rare cases that can also be the problem.

Good luck

thomas thanks once again, but i'll make one last attempt at this. the cdrom i have is a drum lessons program and i have to copy all the files and put them on the hard drive, which i was able to do. but there is an exe. file that needs to be installed. ive done this on a pc and it worked fine the exe. file opens video samples. do you happen to know of anything that would convert this file. and be able to play it? thanks in advance.

Oh lol, your problem isnt a cdrom problem. Your problem is simply a problem with pc files. Virtual pc is the best program that you can use on mac. I dont know if you have enough ram, hard drive space, and processor speed to run it though.

I havent found any better program then vpc.

Sorry i tried a few

That is much to complicated for a user to figure out how to do(we arent all technicians lol).

You can try that, or get vpc.

Good luck
