Description:
Is it possible to backup Playstation games using a CD burner? I have a PowerMac 6100, with a G3 upgrade card. My computer has an internal CD rom drive rated at 2X. I am considering purchasing an external CD burner if I could use it to backup my Playstation games. Is there an EASY way to do this?

Hi Ed,
welcome to nowonder.com! ;>

You can burn playstation games till your blue in the face, the fact is the play station will not recognize the encoding that the mac puts on the disk while burning. However, there is a work-around this! You need to get something called a playstation mod chip. This chip can probably be found to order online. It requires some soldering to your playstation though. Once the chip is in the playstation, it can now recognize a wide variety of cd types.
Hope this answered your question! ;>
