I am trying to use a page in this website and it is coming up with this.
The page “learndirect” has content of MIME type “application/x-authorware-map”. Because you don’t have a plug-in installed for this MIME type, this content can’t be displayed.
Can someone please help. Ive been looking on the internet to see what i can do but cant find anything. Thank you.
You need the Adobe/Macromedia
Authorware Player plug-in.

Hiya Ben, thank you for your response. Ive tried doing that and then once downloaded it says there is no default application to open with, so i try opening it with Quicktime and all it comes up with is - Error opening movie.

What are you trying to open that can't find an application to open itself? The direct download is a bin-hex (.hqx) file, which I thought Safari could handle by itself. If not, you can download The Unarchiver to take care of it. Then, the installer puts the Authorware plug-in folder in /Library/Internet Plug-ins.
If you're having trouble opening the installer itself, it's probably because it's so old (three or four years) and was never updated for Intel. Try adding the .app extension to the filename. If you end up being able to open and use the installer, you may have to run Safari in Rosetta to make learndirect work, since Authorware is still PowerPC-only. You can do this in Safari's Get Info window in the Finder.
Note: I wouldn't expect Adobe to ever update Authorware for Intel, old as it is, and you may have to settle for not being able to view this learndirect page.
