KNOWLEDGE LEVEL: Intermediate

PROBLEM: Software
COMPUTER TYPE: Gateway 2000
MODEL: E-3110
RAM: 64meg
OS VERSION: Windows NT 4
SERVICE PACK: 3

DESCRIPTION:

Just wanted to know if you could tell me how to use the Policy Editor (from the server) or any other way to get past the CTRL-ALT-DEL and the password phase of booting NT 4.0 workstation. I would like to be able to turn on the workstation and have it boot straight into NT and then run an in house program that takes the PC into some software application without a user ever having to touch the PC on startup. Can this be done, and if so, can you tell me how? Running NT 4.0 Server S/P 3 and workstation is attached on a LAN. Thanks!

Rufus,

thanks for using no wonder, what you need is 'microsoft power toys'. its
available for free download from microsoft at:

http://www.microsoft.com/windows/dow...ys/W95TweakUI/

it does many wonderful things and one of them is to allow you to bypass the
login screen...

To autorun of a specific program after the login is simple, just place it
in the users startup group.

Regards,

mark
