Poor communication with printer,i.e, won't clean cartridges etc.Says printer busy printing when it isn't,or it can't communicate with printer,or black cartridge isn't inserted properly.However it detected a new black cartridge and said cartridges should be cleaned!Is this HP software problem or a Windows problem or both?

The problem sounds like its either your printer cable isnt clicked all the way in so its tight. This will happen from time to time.
This also could be a driver problem. Try uninstalling and re-installing the HP driver. Is this a current driver> If not, go to HP's site and download a new driver, and install that. If this doesn't work, try uninstalling the printer, and re-installing it.
